Psychometric Methodology & Scoring Standards

1. Instrument Provenance & Public Domain

Our flagship Big Five assessment employs the validated 50-item inventory from the International Personality Item Pool (IPIP, Goldberg et al., 1999). All items are in the public domain and have undergone extensive academic peer-review. The 16 Types, DISC, Values, and Motivation instruments comprise original questionnaires authored by our team based on foundational psychological theories.

2. Scoring Algorithm & Reverse-Keyed Items

Items are rated on a 5-point Likert scale (1 = Strongly Disagree, 5 = Strongly Agree). Positively keyed items contribute $S = R$; negatively keyed items are reversed using $S = 6 - R$. Raw sums are normalized to a 0–100 scale:

Score = ((Sum - MinPossible) / (MaxPossible - MinPossible)) * 100

3. Population Percentile Reporting

In accordance with our strict transparency policy, percentiles and norm comparisons are displayed only when a statistically valid benchmark of $n \ge 200$ verified responses per instrument has accumulated. All comparative metrics are explicitly labeled as “among users of this site” rather than national clinical norms.
